I'm Jamie McCormick.

At Saltbox, we're building the logistics operator closest to the customer. We help businesses run physical operations near their customers without having to build, staff, or own the infrastructure themselves.

My work connects product decisions with the software that makes them possible. I lead the engineering team and continue to write code. I like being involved in both, understanding what people need and working through the details of how to build it.

Shipt

I got into software through customer support at Shipt. Before I worked on the product, I worked with the people using it. Moving into software development and then product management let me understand the same problems from another side, how the software worked and what we could change.

That was where I began to see how much you could make with software. I could help someone with a problem in support, then work on a product that addressed it for other people, too.

Fetch

At Fetch, my understanding of the work expanded beyond the product itself. I gained experience working across teams and navigating decisions in a growing company. Building software also meant understanding how people made decisions together and how those decisions affected the work.

I brought that experience to Saltbox, where my role includes both building the product and leading the team behind it.

Alongside my work at Saltbox, I build independent products. I enjoy taking an idea through to something people can use, making the product decisions and writing the software myself.

I'm building Run It Again to help coaches bring their plays to life. Coaches can draw animated sports plays, build a playbook, and share it with their team.

I enjoy craftsmanship, whether it's someone making something by hand or a bartender who knows the right drink for the moment. I love a meal where a chef takes you somewhere unexpected, with each course giving you something new to try.

I like getting to know the person behind the work, hearing what they care about, and trusting them to make something their way. Before Shipt, I worked behind a bar and waited tables. I still appreciate the attention it takes to make an experience feel personal.

That curiosity extends to everyday tools. I like trying things, refining my setup, and figuring out what I want to keep. I'm putting together notes on the tools I use and why they've earned a place in my routine.
